We Can Request More Than Just CAIPS Files!

FOSS files

If your case is being dealt with inside Canada, your file is likely to be held in the 'FOSS' computer system rather than in CAIPS. The procedure for requesting a FOSS file is identical to requesting a CAIPS file (including our fees) in every way apart from the fact that we need a different type of IMM5475 'Consent to Disclosure' Form - please download the different form from here: FOSS Consent Form and substitute it for the one in our standard CAIPS FileCheck Application Kit.

Study Permit Files

If you have applied for a study permit, you can apply for your CAIPS notes through CAIPS FileCheck - the procedure is exactly the same as for a standard CAIPS request, just download and use our standard CAIPS FileCheck Application Kit and make sure that your file number is in the format S 123 456 789.

Temporary Work Permit Files

If you have applied for a temporary work permit to come and work in Canada, you can apply for your CAIPS notes through CAIPS FileCheck - the procedure is exactly the same as for a standard CAIPS request, just download and use our standard CAIPS FileCheck Application Kit and make sure that your file number is in the format W 123 456 789.

Medical Records

If you have applied for immigration and an issue has arisen with your medicals, you can request a copy of your medical records through CAIPS FileCheck. The procedure for requesting your Medical file is identical to requesting a CAIPS file (including our fees) in every way apart from the fact that we need a different type of IMM5475 'Consent to Disclosure' Form - please download the different form from here: Medical File Consent Form and substitute it for the one in our standard CAIPS FileCheck Application Kit. It can take 8-10 weeks for CIC to send requested medical files to us.

Entire Immigration File

We can also assist you in obtaining a copy of your entire (hard copy) immigration file - this will include any CAIPS / FOSS file related to your case as well as a complete copy of your hard copy immigration file held by the CIC office dealing with your case. As your file has to be physically photocopied by someone in the local office and then the copies sent to CIC in Ottawa to send on to us, this procedure usually takes 8-10 weeks in total. The procedure for requesting this type of file is identical to requesting a standard (CAIPS) file and our fees are the same, although on occasion CIC does levy an additional fee for photocopying particularly large files which we may have to pass on to you. If you would like to request your entire (hard copy) immigration file, please download the special IMM5475 'Consent to Disclosure' form that we need from here: Entire Immigration File Consent Form and substitute it for the one in our standard CAIPS FileCheck Application Kit.
